Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Ingredients (makes 2 serves) 

  • 350 grams dark Chocolate 
  • 350 grams Cream 
  • 30 grams Sugar 
  • 2 egg Yolks 
  • 4 egg whites 
  • Optional teaspoon vanilla beans or vanilla essence 

Method

  1. Heat chocolate and ½  the cream in a bowl over boiling water (easiest way to not burn the choc) 
  2. Remove from the heat and let cool for a few minutes, and then stir in egg yolks 
  3. In a separate bowl beat your egg whites. When they are ready they will be fluffy and form a soft peak 
  4. Now you can beat in your sugar 
  5. Mix beaten egg whites into your chocolate mixture 
  6. In separate bowl whip the rest of your cream, and optionally add in your vanilla beans or essence 
  7. Fold your chocolate into the whipped cream softly 
  8. Pipe into glass, and garnish with some grated chocolate
